Goldeneye 007 Reloaded Launch Trailer

Posted on Friday, October 28 @ 09:06:22 Eastern by

While Wii owners got their Bond remade in classic Activision fashion last year, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners have had to wait all this time just for an Oddjob or two. The classic shooter's revamped release has received the revamping process all over again, making the jump to HD with online multiplayer fitting of the Nintendo 64 classic.

While we wait patiently for the game's release next week, I'll put forward the fact that Pierce Brosnan will forever be the best Bond. You disagree? Take it up with me in the comments.

Sean Connery once took a girl's bikini top off and choked her with it simultaneously...i'm a huge PB fan but...Connery did that like a boss.

Couldn't agree more about Brosnan...He'll always be "The" Bond for me, and so I really can't understand why he's not in this game. Still, I'll buy this HD version as soon as the price drops.

Daniel, you have dropped the proverbial gauntlet. As a Bond aficionado, having watched each film no less than 5, with some upwards of a dozen, I can say with supreme confidence that Brosnan was not the pinnacle of Bond. Now, don\'t get me wrong, Brosnan had his moments. Goldeneye was a huge break from the Bond that we know, getting levels of character depth not seen since On Her Majesty\'s Secret Service (Though they made a real effort during the Dalton era). In fact, were the series to have ended at Goldeneye I may have even made a case for Brosnan being the best because of his perceived potential. Unfortunately, every movie after Brosnan was completely off the mark. It hearkened back to the days of goofiness of the Moore era (the worst Bond in the Eon franchise, but better than Peter Sellers) and we lost the edge of seriousness and believability that we get from Connery or Craig. Really, the Brosnan Bond was somewhat schizophrenic in tone over the course of his movies.

I actually wrote a 2,200 word essay on this very subject for fun just a few months ago. I'll bring post it up tomorrow or late late tonight. Maybe I'll tweak it some for this particular subject.

Ditto. If you are even a bit interested in the topic, you should go dig into that. Good read, with plenty of valid points.

If you ask me, regardless which Bond actor you prefer, it just looks ridiculous that they're using Daniel Craig's Bond in this game.

Goldeneye was a Brosnan Bond film. Goldeneye (the game) was a Brosnan Bond game. To me, the remake should still feature Brosnan's Bond, not Craig's.

Now, if this remake either comes with (or adds as DLC later) a mode where you can play the game as Brosnan's bond instead of Craig's, THEN I may consider buying the game. Especially if they got Brosnan to provide voice. But this is Activision, and the odds of that happening are about as good as Activision announcing a new Zork game.

That said, if a Brosnan mode ever DOES become real, I will start expecting a new Zork game from them.

Jason Statham is the best Bond.
Because if you voice disagreement to him, he will kill you with your own genitals. Just smile and nod.
