Gotham City Imposters Delayed

Posted on Thursday, January 5 @ 09:52:19 Eastern by

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced today that Gotham City Imposters will be missing its intended January 10th release. Instead, the downloadable title for XBLA, PSN, and Windows PC will be pushed back to the vague date of February.

This is surprising because the game didn't seem to have too many issues during its press event last month, of which I wrote a preview. Daniel also participated in the multiplayer beta for the game and wrote his own preview or it. Perhaps the netcode just wasn't working how they wanted it to, or maybe there was some hiccup with the legal team in trying to sort out what they can and cannot use based off the Batman universe.

Either way, we'll just have to twiddle our thumbs and wait.

Maybe if they film some guys in batsuits beating up juggalos, and release it as a commercial for the game, it'll garner more attention. And as a bonus you get to watch people beat up juggalos.

I played the beta and I just didn't find it fun, the gimmicks are cool but the mechanics make it feel like an (even) more cartoony COD, just did not have fun with it

I'm not that surprised. There's supposed to be more playlists than the two we saw in the beta. There's also supposed to be an open beta releasing this month which I think they will use to observe the other playlist, which is why I feel they delayed the game. The gadgets are fun to use. @MikeyVengeance: The "cartoony COD" I enjoyed and I'm sure others do too.
