Gotham City Impostors Is A Download Only FPS

Posted on Tuesday, May 17 @ 15:07:06 Eastern by

There was a point where we thought we'd be playing some kind of Batman: Arkham City offshoot in the same vein as Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. How wrong were we! Gotham City Impostors, a game that was let loose by way of registered domains, has come to light and it's not what you expect from the Batman IP.

Instead, Gotham City Impostors is a First-Person Shooter that pits amateur vigilantes and villains against each other as they do battle for control of Gotham City.

Remember that guy in the beginning of The Dark Knight... you know... the one wearing hockey pads? Yeah, that's you. Warner Bros Senior VP of Production and Development said that:

Monolith [developers of F.E.A.R] is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker.

Gotham City Impostors remains without a specific release date but the game is supposedly on its way to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in October. Hey! That's right around the time Batman: Arkham City is supposed to land on store shelves! Whaddyaknow!

I'd say that Gotham City Impostors and Batman: Arkham City will be on hand at E3 2011. That means Game Revolution will be able to give you the scoop on everything Batman and video games... or just video games. Check out our E3 2011 tag page for the latest.
