LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Grand Theft Auto III Rage Classic Shows Why Mods Rock

Posted on Monday, July 30 @ 18:03:11 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

A new Grand Theft Auto was announced almost two months ago but it's likely you haven't heard about it. Sure, it's a mod, but it isn't just a mod. It's an extremely ambitious project that shows just how fantastic PC modding can be.

Grand Theft Auto III Rage Classic is the name of what a team of over a dozen GTA fans are working hard on. It takes the assets (maps, vehicles, weapons, etc.) and brings them all to the new Rockstar Advanced Game Engine that helped Grand Theft Auto IV earn widespread critical acclaim. What it provides is a much more modern feel and a significantly improved visual exprience for what was one of the most influential games of the last decade.

You're probably skeptical but a new trailer, which you can view below, shows some of the progress and how much fun it will be to play as Claude again.

As with virtually every PC mod it will be provided as a 100% free download once it has entered a final build, which is expected to be within the next few days. More information on its release date as well as a couple gameplay trailers can be viewed on GTAforums.

seems to me that this should be released for PSVita as well. GTA3 HD?
Now, i don't own a Vita nor do i give any actual ****s about rereleased HD games. I'm just saying, it seems like that'd be something they'd do.

This is a mod, dude. And it's running on the GTA4 engine, which barely even works on the PC, never mind a Vita port.
