GTAV Could Smash Day-One Sales Records

Posted on Tuesday, October 25 @ 08:17:28 Eastern by

This morning's--and maybe this year's--biggest news is that Grand Theft Auto V is official, and a trailer will debut on November 2nd. The entire game industry is abuzz with all things GTA, and industry analysts are already weighing in on the never-before-seen title.

EEDAR's Jesse Divnich says that GTAV's launch could be the biggest of all-time, shattering records previously set by Call of Duty: Black Ops. Black Ops sold over 5 million units worldwide at launch and brough in over $1 billion in revenue.

Michael Pachter, on the other hand, isn't convinced that today's teaser should be considered an official announcment, but more of an "acknowledgement" that an announcement is imminent.

Ya know?... I think that's the smartest thing he's ever said.

Depends on which GTA... I liked the first one (Top-down), GTA Londo, GTA II (Still top-down), GTA 3, Vice City and SA yet I hate GTA4, and much prefer Saint's Row II over it. Not a huge fan of Saint's Row 1.

I've never played any before GTA III but I love that one, Vice City, and San Andreas. I couldn't stand IV. Hopefully they redeem themselves with this one.

At first I didn't like IV as much, but once you get past the learning curve of driving, imo it's still a better game. I loved the older ones too, especially all the sidestuff in San Andreas, but you didn't even need breaks in the older titles, you could just handbrake around every corner.
