Guild Wars 2 Pre-Purchases Exceed One Million

Guild Wars 2 releases today, but thanks to the perks that come with pre-purchasing the game, ArenaNet's MMO has already surpassed one million sales. Those that shelled out the cash early were able to get in on the action this weekend before the official launch, and the data collected over that time yields impressive results.

According to publisher NCsoft, the number of simultaneous Guild Wars 2 players surpassed 400,000. Considering the fact that the game hadn't technically even launched yet, that is one incredibly promising number.

    I haven't got it yet. I may get it later this year but I've been super busy with work and already have enough games I need to finish first anyway so it was put on hold. It looks very tempting though.

    Maybe the pre-launch has some stipulations, or things locked down that aren't available until 'launch'... but if you ask me, if you can pay and play the game, the game's launched.
