Halo: Combat Evolved Gets Remade in HD

Posted on Monday, June 6 @ 10:20:00 Eastern by

The rumors were true. How could they not be? Master Chief, John-117, will be devolving back into combat later this year with Microsoft and 343 Industries' remake of Halo: Combat Evolved. The now classic (?) first-person shooter is getting a high-definition facelift for release later this year.

Master Chief's original fight will be getting a visual upgrade along with a host of additional improvements. Classic multiplayer over Xbox Live anyone?

As someone who's grown a little tired of Halo and its brand of "shoot, grenade, melee" gameplay, I can't say that I'm all that excited by this remake. Of course, I lugged TVs all over the place and ran cables all over houses for several LAN parties with CE,so maybe Microsoft will change my tune once Game Revolution gets further impressions later this week.

Stick with Game Revolution as we bring you news, impressions, and hands-on previews of the hottest games straight out of E3 2011.

    Sums up my feelings exactly.

The worst part of all this is when it comes out. November 15th? Really? MW3 comes out the 8th and Skyrim comes out the 11th. I plan on playing those two games for a long timeeee.

I'll pass. Honestly, I was never that into Halo, the game play is just too shallow for my taste.
