Posted on Thursday, July 18 @ 06:39:15 PST by Alex_Osborn

Vanguard Games has been working with 343 Industries to create a Halo-centric spin-off developed exclusively for Windows 8 devices. The game is a twin stick shooter called Halo: Spartan Assault, and it's available on a Windows-powered device near you starting today.

The title is priced at $6.99, so there's not a huge monetary risk involved if you're curious enough to take the plunge. It's be playable on any tablet, phone, or PC that runs on Windows 8.

Are any of you Halo fans interested in picking this game up? Is the fact that it runs exclusively on Windows 8 a major barrier to entry for you? Let us know in the comments below.
