E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Hideo Kojima Confirms Metal Gear Solid 5

Posted on Friday, November 18 @ 07:13:24 Eastern by

Hideo Kojima is gracing the cover of this month's issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine - UK. It's the first time in 16 years of operation that the magazine is featuring a developer on the cover. And if anyone deserves that recognition, it's Kojima-san.

Kojima discusses Metal Gear Solid: Rising, something called Project Ogre, and confirms that he will be heading development of Metal Gear Solid 5.

The issue goes on sale on November 29th, where many of our questions will likely be answered.

this has nothing to do with this piece of news in particular, but i'm just wondering why the magazine has Playstation 2 at the top of it with PS3 and PSP? maybe complete ignorance on my part, but is there ever any news at all nowadays that has to do with the PS2? i can imagine some small bits perhaps, but to be big enough as to be part of a magazine label?

or perhaps i'm reading too much into it. (pun would be FULLY intended if i actually read the mag)

Great, my life doesn't feel right if I'm not anticipating a new Metal Gear Solid for a year and a half.

But seriously, this is awesome news MGS4LIFE!

What happened to Kojima being done with MGS after MGS4? I swear I read about him saying that before. Maybe I'm remembering wrong. Or, I DID remember correctly and Konami was just all like "Fuck that, we want more of that sweet, sweet Snake money" and told him to head another one.

I stopped being surprised by this a long time ago. He always says there won't be a sequel after every single MGS game since the first one. And every time, Konami hands him a big bag o' money and he's all like "Lol just kidding gaiz!"

In MGS 5, you play as Really Old Snake, who has retired from sneaking missions in favor of touring Europe with his life partner Hal. They save money by flying as cargo, hiding inside Zone of the Enders boxes. Also, nanomachines.

So instead of girly magazines the soldiers would be reading Skymall and in-flight mags.
