Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

I Am Alive Is Most Definitely Alive

Posted on Thursday, September 29 @ 15:33:09 Eastern by

I Am Alive got its first official-official announcement trailer today. This is what the game looks like. Lots of destruction, worn down people, and dusty looking fog inhabit the world post-apocalypse. With a confirmed "winter" date for the game, you'll have to head out to your local retailer to see how to survive after the end of the world.

At least, that's what you'd think, but I Am Alive is arriving on consoles via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. After downloading the title, players will have to set out and find their wife and daughter among the wreckage. Thoughts? Let us know what your impressions of the trailer are in the comments.

"Winter" date? Guaranteed this game will come out in December 21, 2012.

I'm kind of conflicted now. On the one hand I've been stoked for this game since I saw the first gameplay trailer, but upon finding out it's a downloadable title I'm skeptical as to the amount of content that could actually be in the game. And I don't remember the main character looking quite like so much like a rejected member of Green Day, although I could be completely wrong about that.

No, you're right. He looked a lot more clean cut: /watch?v=HZ6Aely9YrQ That trailer says "6 days earlier" so maybe the actual game takes place like...a month later? Enough time for him to grow that beard and hair.

Ah well that's understandable. I still wish they didn't try to make him look quite so "edgy" but if the game is good I have no problems.

    What no PC? How rude!

You know this game fills a interesting niche, the post-apocalypse world is a very popular setting for games look at Rage and Fallout, this game is set not in the distant future but rather in the immediate aftermath of the destruction. That is a much less visited timeframe and could give this game a freshness it might not have had otherwise.
