Impressive StarCraft 2: Heart Of The Swarm Opening Trailer Debuts

Posted on Tuesday, January 22 @ 12:59:00 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

The Queen of Blades is back.

Blizzard Entertainment has released the opening trailer for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, and as with previous intro videos from the talented studio it's a sight to behold. Actually, it's so good that it makes you  wonder why Blizzard isn't busy making full-length feature films.

For the first time ever the massive ultralisk and gundam-style viking are seen in rich cinematic 3D. Oh, and of course Sarah Kerrigan makes a presence. She's definitely not someone—or something—to be messed with.

I think the top-rated YouTube comment says it best:

I must say that by far the worst part of this was when I realized that the game doesn't come out for another month and a half.

Look out for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm when it releases on March 12th.

    Same. Preordered the special edition. This one seems worth it to me for the price.

    That's saying a lot since I'm a Protoss player.

    Even to this day I cannot seem to decide which of the three races is my favorite. I used to be in love with Zerg in Starcraft 1, but more and more I find myself winning with Terran. Is it because you get some much play with them throughout the campaign?

    I never picked up SC2. I think I need to correct this awful, awful error.

    I was always really bad at RTS games but they were among the first games I spent ALOT of time with. Command and Conquer very early on then Warcraft and Starcraft. Was amazing at the time and I loved just building bases. Got SC2 at launch but didn't play much. Planned on picking up once Legacy of the Void comes out but this is damn tempting. ; ;

    I wonder if the campaign will offer more moral choices or not.... like killing mengsk or transforming him into a zerg....
