Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Insomniac Provides "Progress Update" On Fuse With New Video

Posted on Monday, October 22 @ 18:43:02 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Insomniac Games is jumping into the multi-platform arena with Overstrike Fuse, a third-person cooperative shooter that boasts an arsenal of wacky weapons—a feature that has become synonymous with the developer. Up until now, we've had little to go on besides an announcement trailer at E3 last year bearing a different title, and a new video announcing the game's name change.

Fuse is set to launch this coming March, which isn't too far off—believe me, time flies—and I don't know about you, but I've been particularly wary of the game based solely on the fact that we've hardly seen any gameplay. Fortunately, Insomniac has remedied that today by launching a massive eighteen minute video detailing exactly what the title is all about.

Give the "progress update" video (above) a view and then let us know how you think the game is coming along in the comments below.

I like a bit of new fangled gadgetry with weapons. Its more of a chemical reaction with alien energy.

    It's like Ratchet & Clank, just multiplayer-based.

Not at all. There are barely any weapons, it's more like Resistance 2's co-op mode, because it's classed based. But the game is more focused on the weapon abilities than anything else. Looks terrible if you ask me.

I honestly thought Sony owned this studio. It seems crazy to me that they left the development of their flagship FPS in the hands of a second-party studio (There's Killzone, but still...).

You say "left the development" as if Resistance was handed off to Insomniac...they created it.

And Bungie created Halo : ).

Now, I'm not saying that Sony was in the exactly the same position with Insomniac that Microsoft was with Bungie, but Resistance, despite not being at the Mascot/Icon level, is an IP that Sony has pushed to their three most recent platform releases as a killer app.

When I think of Sony-exclusive developers, I think of Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, and (until this article) Insomniac. I was just surprised that Sony hadn't gone 3-for-3 on acquisitions.

It's because of Insomniac's history with Sony. They pushed it so hard because people LOVED it when it came out. It was a continuation of the Big 3 on the PS3. Ratchet and Clank, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper = Resistance, Uncharted, inFamous.

It looked a LOT better in the original Overstrike trailers. Honestly, the changes they made look terribly mediocre.

Are they not seeing the incredible backlash from this?

Fuse = Boring name and now the game looks generic as well.
They are a few gameplay videos and everything just looks like it'll be fun for 5 minutes.
Because apparently, when "4 people play together, they just want to blow stuff up". One of the devs actually said that.

When I hear Fuze, I instantly think of how bad Haze was. Overstrike was more appealing, name and art style included.

Seriously never heard of this game until tonight. I just looked up "Overstrike" and it did look much better at E3 than this did. I'd say I want my 18 minutes back, but it just made me want Borderlands 2...
