Island Living in Far Cry 3 Screens

Posted on Saturday, August 20 @ 16:03:03 Eastern by

At E3, there weren't very many surprises to speak of. Sure, the PlayStation Vita's pricing was a bit of a shock, and the Wii U's reveal was interesting, but in terms of software, there was a very short list of truly surprising reveals. Both Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4 were rumored and anticipated. Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, Modern Warfare 3, Sonic Generations, and more were known well in advance. Luigi's Mansion 2 and another title from Ubisoft were really the only surprising announcements.

Far Cry 3 was never rumored, or even suggested, as a title Ubisoft would have a complete gameplay demo for. Nevertheless, it was one of the better-looking shooters on hand at the show. Ubisoft released a handful of screenshots at Gamescom this week. Check them out below and then stick with GameRevolution as we'll be meeting with Ubisoft at PAX Prime next week.

I’m sorry. I hate to b*tch (well not really) but what platform or platforms is this game on? I looked at game information page, no help. And no where has it been made clear if this is a cross platform game or an excusive to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, PSP, or PC. So could you PLEASE include this information for those of us that are clueless. Thank you.

Thank you De-Ding. That was nice of you. I hope you are right about the PC. I would be less confused if they would add what platform or platforms the is game on, to the information page. HINT! HINT!

I'm really excited to see the game looking similar in gameplay to FarCry 2 as opposed to the first ones (which were also good, don't get me wrong). FarCry 2 had so much potential but a bunch of really horrible, easily corrected design choices made the game almost unplayable. No friendly AI? Respawning checkpoints? WHAT?! I mean I still enjoyed the game immensely, but I'm a total douche.
