After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

John Needham Appointed Studio Boss At Lionhead

Posted on Tuesday, April 23 @ 11:30:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

John Needham, former CEO of Cryptic Studios and Gazillion Entertainment, has just been appointed to be the new boss at Lionhead, filling the shoes of Peter Molyneux.

For those that don't know, Cryptic Studios was behind a handful of MMOs including City of Heroes and Champions Online, and Gazillion Entertainment is currently hard at work on the upcoming Marvel Heroes MMO. As such, it goes without saying that Needham definitely has experience in working with massively multiplayer online games.

"This is a historic time in our industry and I’m excited, and honoured, to be joining Lionhead and Microsoft Studios," Needham said. "Our vision is focused on building innovative gaming services and AAA experiences at Lionhead, and the rest of Microsoft Studios, which take advantage of Microsoft’s incredible hardware and software platforms. Personally, I can’t wait to get started."

Might we see a Fable MMO from Lionhead for Microsoft's next-gen console? Hey, you never know. Would you be interested in something like that? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
