Kid Icarus: Uprising Multiplayer Video Bottles Chaos

Posted on Wednesday, February 22 @ 13:44:41 Eastern by Paul_Hanges

At E3, Nintendo had a large booth with tons of 3DS units and upcoming games. Among them were Mario Karts and Super Marios and Luigis in Mansions. Along a wall was Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer. I grabbed a handheld and picked up a match with three other journalists.

It was messy. In my professional opinion, it was the most chaotic and difficult to understand bit of gaming at the entirety of E3. This was a very early build mind you, but I can't say it left me with a very good impression. I like to know what I'm doing, or supposed to be doing, when I play multiplayer games.

The video above from today's Nintendo Direct conference shows off a more current build of Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer. I'll say that it looks a lot better, but I'm still wondering exactly where this is headed... and do I need a second circle pad?

Kid Icarus: Uprising is slated for release on March 22nd in Japan and March 23rd in America and Europe.

Although the graphics aren't nice, it seems fast-paced, but the game does look as chaotic as a Macy's women sale.

You don't need a 2nd circle pad. The game has the option of one for left handed players. Otherwise the game is played with the circle pad, the L-shoulder button and the touch screen. I'm actually a little more excited for this game now that I've watched a few videos on it. It seems very fast paced and the weapon "crafting" system seems pretty cool.
