Killer Instinct Cast Kept Small For A Reason, Season Pass Planned

Posted on Tuesday, June 18 @ 06:49:27 PST by Alex_Osborn

While Double Helix's upcoming fighterKiller Instinctwill be a free-to-play game for the Xbox One with a rather small cast of characters, the developer is confident in the title, and believes it will deliver a tight and compelling experience.

"Most fighting games that come out are disc based games where you get a huge cast of awesome characters, but it is a massive cast. Some games have anywhere between 30, 40, even 50 characters. And in reality, most players don’t play that many characters,"Microsoft producer Torin Rettig toldPolygon.

“You just only have so much time to get good at so many characters. So we wanted to take that into consideration and release the game in a way that took that into consideration and allowed players to get in and play the game at the level that they want to play it.”

The game will offer a season pass option to those who want to get in on all of the downloadable content including additional characters as they are made available.
