Killzone HD Collection Lands October 23rd

Posted on Thursday, September 6 @ 07:57:32 Eastern by Keri_Honea

The PlayStation Blog kicked off this morning with a riveting announcement of yet another HD Collection coming to stores and a PSN near you: The Killzone Trilogy. Like the other collections previously announced, the Killzone Trilogy will cost $39.99. It will launch on October 23, 2012, since October is pretty sparse for game releases.

The original Killzone game has been given the HD makeover treatment and full Trophy support, so it will be an equal amongst its brethren. As expected, the collection will also include both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, but don't expect Killzone: Liberation to make the cut. Sadly, this PSP game was left off the table.

However, the Trilogy does include all of the Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 multiplayer map packs for free. The complete list is as follows:

Killzone 2 Map Pack Bundle

  • Steel & Titanium Map Pack
  • Flash & Thunder Map Pack
  • Napalm & Cordite Map Pack
Killzone 3 Map Pack Bundle
  • Steel Rain Map Pack
  • Retro Map Pack
  • From the Ashes Map Pack
Any bets on what the next collection from Sony will entail? What would you like to see make the list?

My vote would be for a Resistance Trilogy. Anyone agree?

I swear there was an article about a listing for that being leaked on some French website. I said please yes, so I can have someone to play with.

I've *almost* purchased Resistance 3 so many times...but there's really nothing to play but the campaign, and I don't think it's worth $30. I'm all for a trilogy if they update the graphics of the first game and add trophies.

Really? Resistance 3 is the best PS3 exclusive IMO. At $30, the campaign is totally worth it.

I completely agree with you. But...the story took a completely different direction than what I wanted. Idk, I'll probably pick it up.

I don't think Liberation would be that much fun to play on a PS3. The God of War PSP games were basically smaller versions of the console games, and they were already ported anyways.

That made me remember I got Killzone Liberation after the PSN hack even though I didn't have a PSP. Time to put that on the Vita and give it a whirl!
