Konami Shuts Down Rumors Of Metal Gear Solid 5 Announcement At SDCC

Posted on Monday, July 16 @ 08:36:20 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Sorry Solid Snake fans, but despite what Redditors have claimed, Konami did not officially announce Metal Gear Solid 5 at San Diego Comic Con. As I flip though my Comic Con schedule, I have confirmed that Konami didn't even have a panel at the event. They had a booth at the Exhibit Hall, but no panel.

But don't take my word for it; take Konami's! Konami denied these statements via their UK Twitter account, albeit rather vaguely: "Fake or real, we love a bit of speculation!" The man behind the Twitter wheel suddenly realized how unclear that was and followed up with, "Seriously, just in case the #pinch #salt hashtags weren't enough - the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch."
