Konami Spooks Us with New Silent Hill HD Collection, Downpour Screens

Posted on Tuesday, July 26 @ 13:00:00 Eastern by danielrbischoff

I'll be honest: I'm a total chicken. I've taken some forays into the horror genre (and obviously found the psychological horror aspect more entertaining and enjoyable than the gore and violence), but Silent Hill scares the sh** out of me. If you're in the same boat, scroll quickly past all of these screenshots from Konami's Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Downpour. Seriously... they're... really creepy. [I was wondering when that metal pyramid hat would come in handy... ~Ed. Nick]

Honestly, I'm uploading these blindly, so if you've got the nerve to look through the following shots, please don't be surprised if some other pictures slip in... like some friendly Plants Vs. Zombies images. Yeah... that's some horror I can handle.

The screenshot above is from the upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour. The following two screenshots are from the HD Collection while the remainder of screenshots are from Downpour as well.

The first SH2 pic would be scary... IF YOU COULD READ IT.

Says: "There was a hole here. It's gone now." SH2 is full of holes. Props for the the dressmaker dummy pic, tho.

I also love the shot from Downpour of all the hell crawling up out of the hole(!) in the floor (3rd from bottom). However, I refuse to get stoked about this game. I don't think it's possible for them to make good SH games anymore.

Not taking a jab at you guys, btw. I saw these same pics on another site and it was still too dark to read. I blame Konami's attempt to make SH2 "better." Pssh.

    Thanks for the post.
Quick question: is this coming for X360? If not, why are most (if not all) of these collections coming to PS3 only?

I believe SH HD and Downpour are coming to 360. The Metal Gear and ZoE collections are also coming to 360.

I don't even have my glasses on and I could read plain as day. Sounds like typical cynical nerd complaints.
