Kratos Was Originally Blue According To Series Creator

Posted on Monday, December 17 @ 09:40:32 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
Did you know that Kratos was originally supposed to be blue—and no, not the sad kind. Literally blue... as in the color. God of War creator David Jaffe revealed the slightly surprising news this past weekend on his blog.

Apparently, it was "literally days" before the game's big debut back in 2005 when they decided to swap out the blue warpaint for red. The reason for this change stemmed from the character's striking similarity to the barbarian of Diablo II. “You can bet we changed it, lickity fuckin’ split,” Jaffe said crassly.

What do you think of Kratos sporting blue warpaint? I think he looks less indimidating, but that's just me. Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I like the blue, but maybe as an alternate costume in a game =). The red suits him better imo.

Agreed. A blue warpaint unlock would be pretty cool.

Prefer the red over the blue. It stands out more and screams 'There will be blood', Daniel Day- Lewis style!
