After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Latest Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Video Explores Modern World and Castle

Posted on Tuesday, January 28 @ 15:00:00 PST by

Konami and MercurySteam have released a brand new video detailing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, this time with focus on the game's expansive and open environment.

Producer Dave Cox and studio head Enric Alvarez talk about the game's modern setting and the changes they've made to the world around the player. "This time we have a seamless world, a world without any loading time," says Alvarez.

"You explore the modern city and you explore Dracula's castle, which is part of the city," Cox explains. "So the city has grown around the castle."

During our hands-on time with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the free-moving camera made for some impressive views of Gabriel's surroundings. There are some impressive drops, towering castle constructs, and plenty of Castlevania mood and atmosphere.

Watch the whole video for looks at unique new bosses. My favorite part is the comparison shot where Gabriel is hopping on top of chandeliers, mimicking classic Castlevania gameplay. We're dying to play more of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, launching on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, February 27th, 2014.
