I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

Latest Inside Recon Talks Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Tech

Posted on Thursday, March 1 @ 17:46:25 Eastern by

The latest Inside Recon video talks up the upcoming third-person shooter's technology. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will put fairly forward-thinking tools and toys in players hands so they can better survey and own the battlefield.

OK, enough about them. Let's talk about the weird voice in this video! It sounds like one of the developer's kid brother's. Or Mouse from The Matrix. Maybe this kid can get us a more private meeting with one of the Ghost Recon guys in red.

All that said, the whole transforming UAV device and some of the visual filters in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier seem really cool. I haven't played single-player, but the multiplayer was the kind of hardcore experience most Dutiers won't be ready for. Will you be trying out the beta come April?

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is slated for May on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

April seems so far away, but I'm so excited for this.
On Twitter awhile back, they said there was no split-screen. Glad that changed.

Maybe it's just me, but optical camo and hologram emitting guns don't seem like tech we will have in the near future, or likely ever.

I guess I'm just at the cranky old age of 19, but can I one day just have a tactical shooter that's just really good and doesn't have a bunch of extra weird ****?

I actually really like ARMA but it's pretty clunky (as someone who was in the military I can verify that it is kind of awkward to move around with that much gear but not THAT awkward) and I play with 3 other friends mostly and games like Ghost Recon are tailor made for 4-man fireteams. For ARMA to be fun online (single player missions are pretty dandy if you know how to command troops) you need infantry, armour, air support, all that good stuff.

I can't wait for the episode where they talk about revolutionizing the single-player storytelling experience.

    Yep, any day now...

Well If it is a Tom Clancy game I bet you we will be killing some Mexicans.

Hahaha no kidding. I'm usually good with stuff like that too, but I vaguely remember in GRAW something about a football, and maybe Mexicans kidnapped the president, or maybe they didn't and he was just worried they might or something, I DON'T KNOW.
