Listen To Charmander Squeal As It's Being Mauled By Squirtle

Pokémon Origins, the upcoming anime series based on the first generation of Pokémon games, is set to air this November. If you've seen the announcement trailer, then you're well aware of the fact that this new series isn't quite as silly and lighthearted has the original anime.

To drive this point home, we've got a brief clip showcasing a battle between a Squirtle and Charmander. Seeing as how water beats fire, the poor orange lizard is in for one heck of beating. Watch Charmander get owned in the video below.



Is it just me or does this seem a bit more brutal than a typical Pokémon battle? If this means we're getting a more serious and mature take on the series with this new anime, I'm in. Well... I guess I'm in either way. Nostalgia has its grip on me and it isn't letting go.
