By pitting the two teams who wound up in the Super Bowl against each other, Electronic Arts and Madden have helped gambling addicts everywhere feel safe about their bets. It's gotta be a sure thing, right? The virtual Ravens and virtual 49ers have essentially predicted every last play of today's big game! Why are we even watching?
They should just run all the expensive commercials during a game of Madden and get it over with in the middle of the week. Then we can just enjoy Sunday for what it is, a day to relax and eat too much food, like every week.
If you're curious about the big virtual game's out come, read on:
Both the Ravens and 49ers were held to first quarter field goals as the two top-ten defenses imposed their will to start the game. But any illusions of a low-scoring affair were shattered in the second quarter when the 49ers' Frank Gore scored on a 19-yard run and Joe Flacco quickly answered with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Torrey Smith. Later in the quarter, Baltimore added a Ray Rice touchdown run to secure a 17-10 halftime lead.
