Man Gets Six Figures for Video Game Collection

Posted on Monday, June 23 @ 13:48:10 PST by

Many of us love keeping all of our video games around in order to revisit favorites or just to show off, but sometimes games end up collecting you. I think that's what happened to Michael Thomasson, a video game fanatic with a Guinness World Record for the largest video game collection.

However, Thomassonrecently sold his collection for a whopping $750,000 in an auction at GameGavel. Thomasson estimated that he had over 11,000 games and 100 consoles too, the sum total of which drove the auction from $1 to the final total of $750,250.

Remember folks, video games are fun to play, but don't let that overstocked shelf collapse like the one holding the tarantula in Macaulay Culkin's brother's bedroom in Home Alone.
