Mario Kart 8 Sells 2 Million in Its First Month

Posted on Friday, June 27 @ 05:00:00 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Nintendo announced during its annual shareholders meeting in Japan that in just under a month, Mario Kart 8's sell-through numbers have reached approximately two million worldwide.

This is great news for the company, as Wii U sales have struggled ever since its rocky launch a couple of years ago. Earlier this week, news broke that Nintendo's new kart racer managed to top the last week's sales charts, speeding past Ubisoft's Watch Dogs—that is, if you break up each individual version of Ubi's open-world action game.

Be sure to read our review of Mario Kart 8 if you haven't already. SPOILER ALERT: We enjoyed it quite a bit.
