Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC Launching This March

Posted on Friday, February 22 @ 08:15:42 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Mass Effect 3: Citadel
, the final single-player add-on for BioWare's trilogy capper, will launch on March 5th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The expansion will cost $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points) and comes shortly after the free multiplayer update "Reckoning," which will be available for download on February 26th. BioWare community manager Chris Priestly gave a brief rundown on what to expect from Citadel on the studio's official forums. Check it out below.

When a sinister conspiracy targets Commander Shepard, you and your team must uncover the truth, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives. Uncover the truth and fight alongside your squad – as well as the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.

When the adventure is over, reconnect with your favourite characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy, try your luck at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena, or explore and furnish Shepard’s own living quarters on the Citadel.

With unique content and cinematics featuring your friends and romance interests in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances.

Sorry Nintendo-only gamers, but it doesn't look like there are plans to bring this expansion to the Wii U just yet. Sit tight, though, maybe you'll get it in six months—you know, when you've already moved on.

Maybe it's just me but the idea of paying for and playing DLC in a game where you know your character is most likely dead at the end doesn't intrigue me. Granted, from a lore standpoint and deepening of the universe that is ME it's interesting but for a game built around your choice matters, I find it hard to care for content that won't change the outcome of anything or offer anything new to the bottom line. Your story is still going to end the same. I was really hoping Bioware would release standalone spin off DLC for ME3. Maybe see Garrus as a bounty hunter or something. I don't know. Just something that matters to the story.

I agree with you about stand alone spin-off DLC. I was actually thinking that a good idea would be to have you play as a Cerberus soldier during the events of the third game, someone who thinks he's doing the right thing and it would give you a better look at Cerberus and how their people aren't 'entirely' evil because they think they're doing the right thing

My friend and I just got into the whole Mass Effect world and played ME 2 and 3. Now we just got ME 1 for the first time and are going back through the trilogy so this is perfect timing. I'm also very much on the Mass Effect kool-aid...

Just redid my ME3 saves. So at least I dont have to play through the game again for the 20th time.
