Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer/Single Player Demo Detailed

Posted on Friday, October 21 @ 11:06:56 Eastern by

Community managers at the Bioware forums have detailed a pre-release demo for Mass Effect 3 that will let players try out both single and multiplayer components two months ahead of the game's release. The demo will launch in January 2012 and will be available in every region could you possibly purchase the full game in.

If you plan on picking up Battlefield 3, you can activate your online pass to obtain early access to the multiplayer portion of the Mass Effect 3 demo... or to... you know, play Battlefield 3 online. The exact demo date will be announced in November and early access will be offered through alternative methods.

We'll keep you tuned to all Mass Effect 3 news as it develops so keep it locked on GameRevolution until the game lands on retail shelves on March 6th, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Does anyone know if you need Gold level membership to demo an online mode? Or do they let you get away with that on Silver?

I guess it fairly obvious what crowd ME3 is trying to pull in, if the changes made in ME2 weren't enough of a hint as to the new direction of the franchise. In an investors meeting ES outlined the additional gameplay changes being implemented in ME3 to appeal to the shooter crowd, ya know, like go nowhere with the story, strip out as many RPG elements as possible then dumb everything down for the COD generation. Make no mistake here, what EA tells their investors us what they are actually going to do. What they are they tell us is designed to drum up hype. ES's main goal is profit. Making great games is secondary to meeting quarterly numbers. BioWare used to think quality first, which lead to profitability , not maximum profit over game design.
