Mass Effect 3's Next DLC Will Likely Be A Tearjerker

Posted on Wednesday, December 5 @ 08:15:53 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

While Mass Effect 3's Leviathan and Omega DLC add-ons weren't the most amazing expansions, it appears that BioWare is planning to up the ante with its next piece of downloadable content.

On the official BioWare forums, game designer Jos Hendriks made it clear that the studio is rolling up its sleeves for work on the third DLC pack. “It’s all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every ME3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved.”

Better yet, series composer Sam Hulick will be back to write the soundtrack for this new expansion, after skipping out on the game's two prior story add-ons. On Twitter he teased: “What I’m up to lately: working on an unannounced Mass Effect 3 DLC! More details on this coming later on,” adding, “Tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears.”

Stay tuned to GameRevolution for future updates on Mass Effect 3's next expansion.

If Garrus dies, I will recalibrate Bioware.

The end of ME3 was a real tear jerker on how incoherent and lazy it was.

How much DLC does it take to patch up a broken ending? Hopefully just three, that's if you don't count the "extended cut" as DLC. Which I don't.

They've said the whole, this DLC is going to be even better yet.... yada yada yada. However 2 DLC's in and 25$ of worthless add-on story lines in. I don't trust them with my money or time anymore.

Isn't this typical of ME DLC? It's meaningful if you're playing the full campaign, but not as a standalone product?

Well the ME2 DLC wasn't entirely as unsatisfying as the DLC for ME3, that at least had two DLC add-ons that gave you new squad members who could accompany you through the entire campaign. The issue with ME3 DLC so far is that it doesn't have a lasting effect on the game.

I'm working my way through the PS3 version of ME1 right now. This will probably be out by the time I get to ME3. I'll get the 3 DLCs then.

I didn't remember ME1 being this hard, though. I think I got killed more times so far in ME1 (I'm on Feros) than in the two other games combined.

That's because it's tinted with the love only nostalgia can provide. I tried replaying it on my 360 and remembered how frustrating it can be.
Hopefully though for the ps3 release they fixed the major glitches that would occasionally mean reloading a reeeeeally old save.

I only played it about 5 hours before, since my PC was too **** to run it and it crashed all the time, so nostalgia is probably not a factor.
Maybe I remembered it being easier because I played as a soldier... I'm an adept in this playthrough. Biotics feel weaker than in 2 and 3.

Oh and it has a decent amount of auto-save. Except on uncharted worlds - I learned that the hard way. And no bugs whatsoever so far. Unless funky shadows count as a bug.
