Mass Effect Trilogy For PS3 Arriving This December

Posted on Thursday, November 1 @ 13:38:41 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Earlier this year, Electronic Arts and BioWare unveiled the Mass Effect Trilogy, a compilation that includes all three epic role-playing games. Surprisingly enough, the PlayStation 3 was confirmed to be getting the collection as well, serving as the first time the original—and arguably best—Mass Effect game will be available on the PlayStation 3.

We've known for a little while now that the Xbox 360 and PC versions would be arriving on November 6th, but now we've got word from BioWare confirming that the PS3 version will arrive one month later on December 4th. You'll be able to pick it up in a stylish box at retail or purchase the compilation digitally over the PlayStation Network. Should you just want to pick up ME1, a standalone version will be available on the PlayStation Store as well.

So, who's picking up the Mass Effect Trilogy this fall? More importantly, which of the three games is your favorite? I personally lean towards the first Mass Effect. Such an epic story.

If forced to choose (they were all great, if different) I would have to pick ME2. Expanded on everything I loved about the first one: great supporting cast all with interesting backgrounds and motivations, epic storyline, more fluid combat than the first. ME3 had its faults, what with the originial ending and all, but had some moments that got me super choked up. All three are definitely worth checking out.

It really is a shame that ME3's amazing moments get overshadowed by its ending.

For me it's a shame I already know the endings even though I never played Mass Effect.

I played about half of ME1 on PC before my computer exploded (in an unrelated incident, of course...) and I was forced to get this crap laptop, and then got ME2 and 3 on PS3.

I can't wait to get ME1 on PS3 and play the entire series for real this time.

lol, I just got the notification for this...

I'm pretty sure the Reapers blew my computer up, since they control Bioware and want to destroy all human life and all that jazz
