Michael Fassbender To Star In Assassin's Creed Film

Posted on Monday, July 9 @ 16:06:43 Eastern by

Our good buddies at PlayStation Lifestyle spotted a report by Variety that pegs Prometheus and X-Men: First Class lead Michael Fassbender for a high-profile role in the inevitable Assassin's Creed movie. In an interview with Ubisoft Motion Pictures' Jean-Julien Baronnet told Variety:

Michael Fassbender was our first choice [to play the franchise's iconic hooded hero. Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.

He also enjoys spanking Keira Knightley! This is the latest development in the Assassin's Creed film project following the falling out Sony Pictures and Ubisoft had during negotiations to make the film together.

Alright, so Fassbender is playing an Assassin. Who'll play Da Vinci and who'll play Lucy (ohnosadface.jpg)?

Fassbender is all good and well, I dig him as an actor, but without a good director to tell him how to act, this movie is going to fall flat on its face and be lost in a swirl of poopshit.

An actor I love in a movie for a franchise I hate. Perfect.

Hoping this gets stuck in development hell.

I hope it doesn't, because I'm tired of seeing announcements of films being created based on a game. Gears of War had a great story, but there was no success from that. Chris Morgan even mentioned he was going to be writer for the Gears film. I was a movie that's based on a game that won't suck. I didn't see Prince of Persia, did that suck? (Not a rhetorical question)

Prince of Persia was pretty entertaining. It had some good stunts and fight scenes as well as special effects. I looked up the director for the AC film and he has only ever directed two movies that no one has heard of...as well as directing a NeoPet video game. God help us all.
