This actually might be "your dad's" Japanese TRPG, and for those with a hankering for it, that can be a very good thing.

Microsoft: 343i “Has a Great Plan” for Halo, News Coming at E3

Posted on Friday, February 28 @ 05:11:43 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Microsoft's Phil Spencer has confirmed that Halo will be making an appearance in some shape or form at E3 this year.

Seeing as how the company promised Xbox One owners a new Halo game by the end of 2014, I'd say the Master Chief's appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo was a given anyway.

Speaking to a fan on Twitter, Spencer said, "Halo news will be coming at E3. 343i has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone."

Might that "plan" have something to do with an anniversary edition of Halo 2? Voice actor Steve Downes seems to think so.
