Microsoft Has No Plans To Bring Halo 4 To PC

Posted on Tuesday, November 6 @ 11:58:00 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Despite the fact that we haven't seen a Halo title come to the PC since the days of the original Xbox with Halo 2, PC gamers are for some reason holding out hope that 343 Industries' sci-fi shooter will be made available for their gaming tower of fun.

I hate to burst your bubble, but as of right now, that just ain't gonna happen. According to a report from The Penny Arcade, a Microsoft representative has confirmed that there are currently no plans to bring Halo 4 to other platforms.

Halo 4 was designed specifically for Xbox 360, and while we’re always exploring new ways to expand the franchise and share the Halo experience with as many fans as possible, we do not currently have any plans to port Halo 4 to PC.

Those of you that do have an Xbox 360 and have managed to squeeze in a few hours of Halo 4 already, be sure to let us know what you think of the game thus far in the comments below.

I have a 360, but I'm done buying games for it or any other console this gen. I'm a strictly PC gamer for the time being. It's a shame Halo 4 won't be on the PC. It would probably look amazing and sell a ton more copies. It's my understanding that there's still a pretty active following for Halo 2 on the PC, so it just doesn't make sense to me to make it a console exclusive so close to the end of the 360's lifespan.

A couple of friends of mine in college were hardcore Halo (1) tournament players. When it finally ported to PC, they played it and b!tched constantly for all of a week. The only thing I remember about it was that you could use the Hunter's weapon.

I don't blame them, the Halo port for PC was terrible. It didn't have the feel of the Xbox version, like people who had never played it made an FPS and just used Halo textures.

Not that I play PC games all that much, but this seems pretty ****-ing mental considering how every other Halo game was on PC.

Wait, PC gamers give a damn about Halo? There are so many shooters out there (many of them better than Halo) that I don't see a PC release doing particularly well.

Halo's make console sales spike. I'm sure they'd rather sell a ton of expensive premium consoles before next gen than sell a few million units on PC and have a few million million units pirated!

few million units more sold is quite a bit, 3M x $60 = $180,000,000, granted MS only sees a small part of that money but thats still a lot

Only have to sell 450k consoles to match that! Given that they've sold over 65 mill it's not that much of a stretch.

yes but the real question is how many of those console sales are from people replacing after the red ring or buying up all the limited edition consoles, i honestly dont know many people that have only owned 1 360, hell i even own 3 myself(bought 1 and got 2 with TVs)
