LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Everything I Learned About Call of Duty: Ghosts Last Week
I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

Microsoft Hiring Hacker, Modder For Next Xbox Experience

Posted on Thursday, February 21 @ 14:12:32 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Microsoft looking to hire what appears to be an individual with a solid background in hacking.

In a job listing on Microsoft's site for a Service Engineer, the company describes their ideal candidate as someone who tends to "void the warranty on every device" they own, and make "devices do things never intended by the manufacturer."

Here's an excerpt detailing exactly what the Big M is looking for:

We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to help define the next generation of entertainment devices and services, and to help ensure our customers have the best possible experience, even when things go wrong. Well-qualified candidates have extensive experience in running web-based services, deconstructing interaction between client and servers (via a combination of logging, network traces, and so on); have a good understanding of C# and/or PowerShell, and excellent ability to communicate verbally and on paper.

What could this listing mean? They do specifically reference the "next generation of entertainment," so it's probably safe to say that this is related to the supposed Xbox 720 in some way, shape, or form. With all of the rumors going around that Microsoft may plan to block used games with its new console, perhaps this is a measure to prevent users from circumventing whatever walls the system may have in place.

Then again, this could just be a move by Microsoft to beef up its security for next-gen. Piracy and hacks have become commonplace on the Xbox 360, so it's easy to why Microsoft would want to recruit some fresh knowledge in this area.

Bearing all that in mind, sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on what this may mean for the future of the Xbox platform.

Can only mean good things really, either they are going to make the platform more secure, or they're going to have him tweak their system and if they like his changes then they could adopt them.

Like how Apple steals all its software updates from the best/most popular jailbreak hacks.

Wouldnt it be great if they were trying to work on the ability to mod games, like in the PC world. I know...its a crazy idea, but that is something I always wished these consoles could incorporate.
