LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Microsoft Prepares For A Long Future With Master Chief, Registers Halo 7-9 Domains

Posted on Friday, September 14 @ 08:23:47 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

It doesn't look like the Master Chief will be going into retirement any time soon, as Microsoft has just registered domains for Halo 7, Halo 8 and Halo 9 (first spotted by Fusible). 343 Industries already made it clear that we'll see Halo up through a sixth installment, thanks to the reveal of the "Reclaimer Trilogy" back at E3 2011, but there's a good chance we'll see yet another trilogy in another 10 years.

Crazy to think, I know, but it makes sense for Microsoft to secure these domains, even if we're many, many years from these titles. The Halo franchise is Microsoft's bread and butter, so anyone who thought they'd simply stop after number six is clearly delusional.

What do you think? Will Halo still be relevant when it reaches its ninth installment? After all, the Final Fantasy franchise lost relevancy years ago, but that hasn't stopped Square from pumping out new installments.

And in ten years, the same will likely apply to 343i.

This is absolutely DISGUSTING. No series should run past 2 sequels.

And just when I thought there wasn't a reason for me to care any less about the Halo series, I am proven wrong.

Well huh... maybe some of them will actually be set in the same world as Myth? Have a master chief mow down medieval knights with a plasma grenade? Or maybe marathon? Where master chief will huh... shoot down aliens... ok i got nothing.
