Microsoft Will Pay You $100 for Your PS3, But Only If You Buy an Xbox One

Microsoft retail stores have popped up all accross America (there's one in my local mall and it sits directly accross from the Apple Store. Never any business with the computers and laptops, but the Xbox One demo station is always full), and now the software giant hopes to leverage those stores to open up their very own PS3 refurbishment service.
Between January 23rd and March 2nd (about one week before Titanfall releases on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC), Microsoft Stores will give customers $100 in credit towards an Xbox One if you trade in your Xbox 360 S, Xbox 360 E, or your PS3.
At the bottom of the ad displayed in-stores and online (seen above), Microsoft writes "Visit your store, let us recycle your PS3, and get $100 of store credit towards the purchase of a new Xbox One."
Let me stop you at "recycle". No one is going to do any recycling here. Microsoft will certainly take your PS3 and sell it themselves for more than they give you. That's something Microsoft or, truly, any corporation making this kind of bargain will do, but they won't recycle your old console for you.
Hell, Microsoft might even open up their own refurbished PS3 eBay store. Who the hell knows what's going to happen with the PS3s people trade in for this crummy deal? One thing's for sure, Sony fans have already fired back.
