After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Minecraft Populates World With Useful Horses And Donkeys

Posted on Friday, April 19 @ 12:36:00 PST by Jonathan_Leack

Minecraft has been updated to version 13w16a. Don't let the strange nomenclature deter you, this is one of the best updates yet.

A variety of mounts and ways to interact with them have been added to Minecraft. There are horses and donkeys to ride and use as storage, and you can even hurdle over obstacles while exploring lush, blocky landscapes. While riding a virtual horse is a lot of fun, breeding a trusty animal friend of your own or crafting armor to keep it safe from harm's way might be even more alluring.

In addition to the four-legged travel added in the patch Mojang upgraded the Minecraft launcher to run on Java 6. The company plans to add new game settings as well as other great features through the implementation in the near future.

Oh, and this update is 100% free, no strings attached. If you'd like to read the full list of patch notes check out the Minecraft Wiki page.
