Shigeru Miyamoto, the mastermind at Nintendo behind iconic franchises like Mario and Zelda, has been shifting to a more hands-off approach as he passes on the bulk of the management to other rising stars at the company.
Speaking with ONM, Miyamoto discussed his changing role at the Big N, saying:
As you saw at our presentation at E3, Mr Aonuma chased me off stage... he doesn't need me any more! The final responsibility for the title still comes down to me and I'm still involved in the games, but I'm definitely able to leave the series up to him in a way.Are you concerned to see Miyamoto continue to pull further and further away from these key franchises, or are the likes of Aonuma and Eguchi more than up to the task of filling his shoes?
