Shigeru Miyamoto, the brilliant mind behind many of Nintendo's most beloved franchises, recently shed light on one of his most underwhelming titles,Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
During aPikmin 3demo,Kotakugot the chance to speak with Mr. Miyamoto. During their conversation, the outlet asked the game designer if he feels like he ever made a bad game,to which he replied with a simple "Yeah."
Naturally, Kotaku followed up by asking him which game that might be.Through a translator, he sort of double-backed on his prior answer, saying:"I wouldn't say that I've ever made a bad game, per se, but a game I think we could have done more with wasZelda II: The Adventure of Link."
So why NES adventure sequel? Miyamoto explained:
When we're designing games, we have our plan for what we're going to design but in our process it evolves and grows from there. InZelda II: The Adventure of Link, unfortunately all we ended up creating was what we had originally planned on paper.Interesting explanation, and certainly not the response I was expecting. Do you agree with Miyamoto's thoughts on Zelda II? Didyou find one of his other games to be more disappointing? Let us know in the comments below.
