Mod Brings Gamers Back to Vice City This Christmas
Posted on Tuesday, September 6 @ 11:03:57 Eastern by Daniel Bischoff
If you're one of those people (me) who love Vice City above San Andreas (me) purely for the ability to cruise around and listen to the best 80s music (me), then you're probably looking forward to the upcoming PC mod for Grand Theft Auto IV that recreates the entirety of Vice City in GTA IV's RAGE engine.
(me)
Vice City had the best soundtrack and the best campaign. It's true that San Andreas was more expansive and Grand Theft Auto IV introduced annoying cell phones, but Vice City will always be the best GTA for it's transporting ability. Check out the trailer above and keep your fingers crossed that the mod won't get delayed again.
Dan, you get a high five. I, too, love the Vice City over all others. Also, you forgot cruising the channel in your sport boat while listening to flock of seagulls.
Hear hear! Vice City is certainly the greatest GTA there is. San Andreas was obviously larger and better made... but I just can't get behind LA in the early 90s as a setting. It's not my cup of tea. GTA IV gave us annoying cell phones, and took AWAY the ability to buy up the city! A shocking and MAJOR step backwards.
It's funny, after many years, I actually started replaying Vice City on my PS2 just 3 days ago. And now this. Heh
Hear Hear! Vice City picked a great mob movie subgenre ripe for satire - the 80's miami mob movie - and nailed both a spot on plot with all the right jokes. Not to mention, the feeling of "taking over" the city made it way more fun than San Andreas in my eyes.
And GTA IV was depressing... I don't want to play as some sorry sack immigrant who can't even bother to shave his neck when he puts on a suit - I want to be a slick gangster with outlandishly flashy clothes!
