Modern Warfare 3 Gets Dedicated Servers on PC

Posted on Wednesday, August 17 @ 11:17:43 Eastern by danielrbischoff

With Battlefield 3's massive PC draw, Activision and developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games are looking to make Modern Warfare 3 as appealing as possible to the master race. You'll remember 2009's Modern Warfare 2 boycott over the matchmaking system in place in Modern Warfare 2's PC release... You'll also remember how pathetic it turned out to be.

Despite the fact that so many boycotters purchased the game, Modern Warfare 3 is looking to avoid any negative press on the PC by including dedicated servers for the multiplayer side of things. Activision confirmed at Gamescom today that Modern Warfare 3's Call of Duty Elite social tools will account for dedicated servers as well, but the company is looking into how best to combat cheating.

"Everyone's too buys hypocritically boycotting Origin...."

I love how one little slip of the keyboard can make an entire sentence unintelligibly nonsensical.

Let's hope this is actual dedicated server support and not "Rent from our Official Dedicated Server System Provider Program™" bull.
