More Mega Man Coming From Capcom In The Future

Posted on Wednesday, November 14 @ 09:39:08 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

This year marks a whopping 25 years of Mega Man, but Capcom made it clear several months ago that they wouldn't be celebrating the momentous occasion with the release (or even announcement) of a new game, leaving the entire gaming world wondering whether or not they've shelved the franchise for good.

Fortunately, that is hardly the case, as Capcom USA senior vice president Christian Svensson told Nintendo Power that the publisher plans to deliver plenty more Mega Man to both handhelds and consoles. "I can say with certainty that you’ve not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we’ll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you’re going to enjoy over the next 25 years."

Sadly, the company does not have anything tangible to reveal quite yet. "That said, an issue we’ve had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we’re certain they’re going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans," he explained. "So for now, I’m going to have to stay mum about any details."

Are you excited for more of the Blue Bomber? Where would you like to see Capcom take the franchise going forward? Let us know by commenting below.

I would love more mega man. Me and my dad used to trade off beating levels and bosses on the previous ones. We brought the tradition back when they released 9 and 10. He come over on his days off and we'd play them. So I'm always for more of the blue bomber. After how Capcom has treated the franchise, I'll believe what they say when I see it available for purchase.

This always confused me... Capcom has been farming out its franchises as of late... Why don't they let ASW handle a ultral detailed HD 2D megaman game? And while where at it, let me do a similar treatment on a final fight revamp.
