Last week, during the Big N's latest Nintendo Direct, the company announced thatEarthBound would finally be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console. For those that don't know,EarthBound is actually the second installment in a role-playing trilogy known asMother in Japan, so naturally, a bunch of gamers are now clamoring for a localized version of the GBA followup, Mother 3.
Series fanClyde Mandelin would love to lend a helping hand in this process, offering his translation work to Nintendo free of charge. Mandelin posted the following on the Mother 3 fan translation blog:
I realize that localizing a game this size can cost a lot, so if it'll help in even the slightest, I'll gladly offer to let Nintendo use my text translation files for any use at all, completely for free. I'll even edit the files to fit whatever new standards are necessary (content, formatting, memory size, etc.), completely for free. I'll even retranslate everything from scratch if need be. Just whatever it takes to get an official release out.Are you excited to playEarthBound on the Wii U? Would you be up for someMother 3 should a localized version come to the 3DS?
