Mystery Mortal Kombat DLC Character Is...

The 4th Mortal Kombat DLC character has been revealed at a live Comic-Con panel by series co-creator, Ed Boon. But it's so ridiculous, I don't even want to say who it is.

(You can do this, Anthony... Be strong...)

Please, someone perform a fatality on me to put me out of my misery! Ah, fuck it. The fourth Mortal Kombat DLC character is Freddy Krueger... Seriously... Go ahead, double check the date. We're not in some April Fool's Day infinite time paradox. This is not a dream (although it certainly is a nightmare). The months of speculation and anticipation have amounted to this: A Washed-Up '80s Horror Icon.

I get it, he's an iconic figure, he's got those claw hand thingies. But seriously, Boon? Seriously, NetherRealm Studios? You really thought this was a good idea?

Just when I thought Mortal Kombat was back and better than ever, this happens. So much for a Mortal Kombat just for the hardcore MK fans.

I was planning on announcing who won the Guess Who Haiku with this announcement, but no one guessed it would be Freddy Krueger, and no one could have guessed it, either. I'll announce the not-winner who still gets the value card, but I need a little while to digest this horrible news.

Now excuse me while I break something of mind that's Mortal Kombat related. Nothing expensive, though. 

(Not sure if you could tell, but I'm pretty upset over this announcement.)

Oh and BTW, here's a trailer for him. I can't look.

    One can only assume its because only PS3 users are subjected to Kratos...this is a suckfest for any platform...I think

    WHAT THE F*CK? If this isn’t a joke, and believe me I wish it was, then there must be a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie about to hit. That’s the only sane reason anyone would do this, NetherRealm had better be getting a sh*tload of money for doing this to their fan base.

    That'd be even worse if it was a movie tie in. That means they sold out for sure. Maybe someone at NetherRealm just rewatched the original Nightmare on Elm Street and felt nostalgia for this 80s horror icon.

    They are gonna milk this one why make it Englund this is the remake mortal kombat universe you get remake freddy first and this gives netherrealm studios an excuse to charge you 7.00$ for the DLC Classic freddy Skin which will be Englund......... Show them the money...........

    I now understand why they did this. Bare with me now on the logic, after the release of this new game the expectations for fans was so high that there was no where else to go. So they intentionally even the playing field with this character. Aim low kids, then you can never disappoint.

    Ok all *****ing aside this is damn cool, i never liked Mortal Kombat, but i loved ALL the nightmare series. I did play this Mortal Kombat rented it and ran through the storyline and played some tournies. I was wanting to get it then this sealed it. I think Freddy is an excellent eddition to this story, i know it doesn't make sense but ITS FRICKEN FREDDY, one of the most recognizable characters from Hollywood horror history. If you disagree with me ill call up a friend to visit you in your dreams.
