Namco Pulls Codpiece SoulCalibur V Ad; Titties Okay, Though
Posted on Monday, January 9 @ 10:57:46 Eastern by Nicholas Tan
Namco has pulled the above promotional poster for SoulCalibur V that veers on the edge of NFSW from their Facebook page. It's a close-up shot of what looks like Voldo's codpiece with Japanese text that can interpreted along the lines of "Curious?" People complained because that's what they do.
In an example that would belong in an gender studies essay about "male privilege", the poster is surprisingly tame when compared to their previous busty ad for the game.
Both ads are stupid and I don't see how people being prudes amounts to "male privilege", especially since it was probably almost exclusively women who complained. That codpiece looks like it contains his reading glasses.
Male privilege? One is a photo of picture perfect giant breasts on a presumably attractive woman and the other is alluding to the dick and balls of a hideous writhing demon monster thing. Man, woman, gay, straight: who the hell would want to look at that?!
