New "Heroes and Heralds" Mode for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Posted on Monday, October 17 @ 12:57:12 Eastern by

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Producer Ryota Niitsuma has revealed a new single-player and multiplayer mode for the furious fighting crossover called "Heroes and Heralds".

Available as free DLC post-launch, perhaps via a code that will come exclusively to new copies of the game, Heroes and Heralds allows players to customize their favorite characters with new abilities using upgrade cards, not far from the newly announced gem system for Street Fighter X Tekken.

According to the above trailer, new activated abilities include an X Factor Burst, Invisibility, Projectile Invulnerability, Assist Attack Stuns, Special Attack Cancels, and Super Armor for Assist Attack for players who like to spam the tag-in assist buttons. Players can either compete as Heroes defending "Earth from Galactus or as one of Galactus' Heralds".

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 features 12 new characters, 8 new stages, and will retail for $39.99 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 15.

Eh....I had big expectations for MvC3 and once MK9 came out....MK has been the only fighting game I've been playing since. And so far....UMvC3 still doesn't grab my attention as I thought it would. I'll prob pass on this!
