New Paper Mario Sticker Star Trailer Won't Come Off

Posted on Thursday, October 25 @ 10:38:00 Eastern by

While I'm one of many fans still clamoring for a follow up to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Paper Mario has taken a ball and run with it, you just might not want it back. The series started on the Nintendo 64 and is now coming to the 3DS handheld.

We already knew all of that. We've had our hands on Paper Mario: Sticker Star a few times, but the problem is they keep taking it away from us. Everytime I see the game I want it more. I've taken a liking to RPGs on my handhelds following Persona 3 Portable, playing them in bed before going to sleep.

Sticker Star certainly seems to be compelling, but there's a sleepy quality to the flat little Mario and all the Toads he's apparently going to find hidden in Sticker Star's world which you'll be able to dive into when it lands at retail and the eShop on November 11th.

The things like bouncing a koopa trooper before battle so you can kick his shell have been in Paper Mario games as long as I can remember. He sounded like he was trying to tout that as a new feature.

He was right, it is a new feature. The N64 and Gamecube games didn't let you kick koopa shells into enemies during battle.

Am I thinking of Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga? Or was there just a mechanic that was close to this in one of the aforementioned games?

Oh, yes, it has been in the Mario&Luigi games, now that you mention it. I definitely remember it in Bowser's Inside Story, and I think Partners in Time.

I've loved the Papaer Mario series since the days of the N64. I've never actually been able to beat the 1,000 Year Door though. That last boss fight is a colossal pain in the ass. Paper Mario is one of, if not THE primary reason I would ever own a Wii.

Super Paper Mario is actually a great title. If you do pick up a Wii to play the game, have fun! :D

Just a fast warning, the Wii version of Paper Mario is *very* different from the RPGs the rest of the series have been. It's more of a Metroid-style adventure/platformer. It's still a great game, though.

Looks awesome but I sold my 3DS & 2 Games for 180$. Hope it makes a kid happy this Christmas.
There was just not enough games that was interesting.
Maybe one day I'll buy the 3DS XL, if the games start picking up... It was my intention to sell my current 3DS for the XL but I'll wait and see if its worth it.

If I ever do pick one up, this game will be top priority!

I like the 3DS XL so much more than the regular 3DS. Hope it makes its way back into your hands soon.

Yeah right now the colors are pretty limited. I like my blue but I think the red is kind of ugly.
