New Pokémon For X & Y Is... A Sword?!

Posted on Monday, July 8 @ 07:42:36 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

The first entry in the Pokémon series for 3DS is bringing about a whole bunch of change to Nintendo's super popular handheld franchise. From 3D environments to a Nintendogs-esque creature-petting mode, Pokémon X & Y are moving the franchise forward, for better... and arguably worse.

The Pokémon Company has just revealed the latest addition to its growing cast of collectible monsters, and it's becoming readily apparent that they're running out of ideas, as this new creature is basically just a sword.... Yes, a sword.

The creature is called Honedge and is a steel and ghost type Pokémon. Am I being overly critical or does this thing look a little ridiculous? I miss the the days of just having to worry about capturing 151 of the little buggers.
