Next Assassin's Creed Already Targeting 2012

Posted on Tuesday, November 8 @ 14:55:07 Eastern by Josh_Laddin
I'm really excited for the release of Assassin's Creed: Revelations next week, and still impressed by Ubisoft's ability to crank out an immersive, full-bodied quality open world title in the series yearly. Apparently, that trend isn't stopping here.

We all know that the series won't be ending with Revelations, but news out of Ubisoft's Q2 conference call has the next installment hitting next year. CEO Yves Guillemot made clear the plans for a "another great full-fledged Assassin's Creed title next year." Will it be AC3? I sure hope so.

Either way, it's bound to pick up at the inevitable cliffhanger at the end of Revelations, which has pretty much become a series staple. At least it's nice to know that we won't be waiting that long to see the next installment.

I just hope they go with technology and upgrade the foundation as they're going.
But I want Altair back, I'm sick of the bubbly sounding guido voice. Doesn't help he constantly says bene, its awfully close to pene which is penis in Spanish. lol

As Nick said the other day, Mr.Guillemot's statement is NO SHIT news, as obviously it all ends in 2012 (for AC at least) so they have to pull the last game off before that, else they would be... well, not following the game storyline lol what would be impressive is seeing more than one game per year, a la FFXIII.

By the way, Playstation4 is already in development!

Another injustice against the fans of mirror's edge. Milked much?

Assassin's Creed is by Ubisoft. Mirror's Edge is by EA. Unless you're implying Ubisoft somehow controls what EA publishes...

I'm saying there's only 2 free running style games on the market, and mirror's edge two wasn't announced. Is this the 5th AC now?

I still fail to see how Ubisoft not making a new AC game would cause EA to make a new Mirror's Edge. If anything, AC's popularity means DICE can go to EA and say "See? Free-running games are profitable."

I own the first but haven't played much of it. Seems like there are too many coming out too often for me to start caring about the series at this point.

You should only play the first because then you will understand AC:2, which in my opinion is a game every gamer should play. And will make you love with Italy.

I had the first one but haven't taken the plunge on any of the others since. The first was ok but it didn't make me want to play the rest.
