Next Guild Wars 2 Beta Wave To Include Asura And Sylvari

Posted on Monday, July 9 @ 15:03:26 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

Guild Wars 2 has had a couple of successful beta waves already and they've been a lot of fun. But only three of the total five races have been included. Thankfully, the next beta weekend will include all of them.

ArenaNet has announced that during the next Guild Wars 2 beta weekend both Asura and Sylvari will be playable. Perhaps the best thing about this is each of the five races have their own starting areas, so we'll finally be able to see all of the beginner zones and make it easier to choose a race for launch.

The Sylvari are a tall race of omnivorous humanoid plants that resemble a cross between human and elf. On the other hand, Asura are short humanoids with strange proportions that look like aliens. Guild Wars 2 is definitely not short on creative races...

The next beta wave will last from July 20 to July 22nd, and it's said to be the last before the game's release date of August 28th.

Not to sound like a fan boy but I very much have enjoyed my time in beta and have been delighted to see the developers listening to the testers and making changes.

I've been watching GW2 closely, and just landed a beta key. Could be the MMO for the post-WoW me. Of course, PS2 lurks in the background, reminded me how much I enjoyed the original...
